winner of 3rd UNISA National Jazz Voice Competition 2025

giuliette participated in the 3rd National UNISA Jazz Voice Competition in July 2025, where she won first prize of R90,000. competing against the country’s top 10 jazz vocalists over four rounds across a week, she demonstrated both artistry and technical mastery. the competition, known for its academic and performance rigor, judged contestants on improvisation, versatility, and authentic interpretation of jazz styles.

selected vocalist for the National Youth Jazz Band 2024

in June 2024, giuliette was selected as the vocalist for the National Youth Jazz Band, led by renowned pianist and composer Afrika Mkhize. Under his mentorship, the ensemble rehearsed and performed original music, showcasing some of the country’s most promising young jazz talents. the eight-member band featured Adam Powell on piano, Stuart Martin on drums, Uviwe Caso on guitar, Jayden Harebottle on tenor saxophone, Nick Ford on bass, Esihle Valela on tenor saxophone, Khaya Mthembu-Salter on guitar and giuliette price on vocals.

graduation with BMus Honours in Jazz Voice Performance 2024

graduated with distinction in Jazz Performance after six years of formal training, beginning at Wits University in 2019 and continuing at the South African College of Music (UCT) from 2021 to 2024, under the mentorship of Nomfundo Xaluva, Amanda Tiffin, and Andrew Lilley.

signed artist to Quiet Life Co 2025

signed to Quiet Life Co as a recording artist, where Giuliette is developing new original music. in 2024, she released two singles, including ‘only one‘ (September), and is currently working on a forthcoming EP.

original project performance at the Baxter Theatre 2024

when invited by the South African College of Music to present her own headlining show at the Baxter Theatre, giuliette rose to the occasion with a full set of celebrated South African jazz works and her own original compositions. performing alongside her sextet, she delivered a powerful performance that concluded with a standing ovation.

sold-out shows at Journey to Jazz Festival 2024

at the Journey to Jazz Festival in Prince Albert, giuliette made her debut in 2023 with the UCT Little Big Band. she returned in 2024 to present her own original project, selling out both shows. performing with her quintet, she captivated audiences with unreleased original music, blending jazz-rooted melodies with poetic lyricism.
